High-rise event floors with glass walls and lower ceilings behave very differently from large halls: sound reflects off glass but the overall volume is smaller, so reverb is shorter and the energy in the room builds quickly. The result favours DJ sets, small amplified bands and jazz trios, formats that fill the room without overwhelming it. Big brass-led party bands and heavy percussion setups are harder to fit visually and acoustically.
