Westergasfabriek ist einer der meistgebuchten Event-Campusse Amsterdams, ein ehemaliger Komplex der Imperial Continental Gas Association im Westerpark, der zu einer Kultur- und Eventlocation entwickelt wurde. The Gashouder is the headline space, a circular, pillarless former gasholder with a domed iron roof. Volumes that large with hard surfaces produce a long natural reverb, which means amplified live music needs a carefully designed PA. The room rewards bands that play with restraint and a sound engineer who tunes the system to the space. The Transformatorhuis (also branded De Wester) and Machinegebouw are smaller industrial halls that handle full-band PA more readily.
