About this venue
A’DAM Toren is the most-photographed event tower in Amsterdam, originally the Royal Dutch Shell tower built between 1966 and 1971, converted and reopened in 2016 as a mixed-use tower with hospitality, events, A’DAM Lookout observation deck, and the Madam panorama restaurant. Event floors run on levels 10, 16, 17 and 18 across the A’DAM Events portfolio. Lupa has performed at A’DAM Toren for private and corporate parties.
How the room sounds
High-rise event floors with glass walls and lower ceilings behave very differently from large halls: sound reflects off glass but the overall volume is smaller, so reverb is shorter and the energy in the room builds quickly. The result favours DJ sets, small amplified bands and jazz trios, formats that fill the room without overwhelming it. Big brass-led party bands and heavy percussion setups are harder to fit visually and acoustically.

Soul and groove-led four-to-six-piece bands work well, as do jazz trios for dinner sets and DJs with a live vocalist for late-night portions. The tower’s visual identity rewards stylish, tight productions over big-stage party bands.
