EYE Filmmuseum, ontworpen door Delugan Meissl Associated Architects en geopend in 2012, is een van de architectonisch meest onderscheidende eventlocaties van Amsterdam, een dramatische witte vorm aan de IJ-oever in Overhoeks. Het eventprogramma omvat de bioscoopzalen (Cinema 1 met 315 zitplaatsen, Cinemas 2 tot 4 met 67 tot 127 zitplaatsen), de Foyer, de Waterfront-ruimte en de Arena als exclusieve huurruimte, voor recepties, conferenties, bruiloften en brand events.

Hoe de ruimte klinkt

The cinemas are acoustically treated for film sound, absorbent surfaces and raked seating produce a short, dry acoustic that suits speech, screenings and small amplified showcases but feels flat for unamplified ensembles. The Foyer and Arena, by contrast, have glass, concrete and other hard surfaces that produce a reverberant acoustic better suited to DJs and amplified bands with attentive PA tuning.

Welke acts passen in deze ruimte

For Foyer or Arena receptions and dinners, a five-to-six-piece groove band or jazz trio fits the architecture well. For cinema-room showcases or branded screenings, a DJ with a vocalist or a small amplified act works inside the cinema acoustic.
