International Destination Wedding Band
International wedding band · travels Europe

An English-speaking live band that travels to your wedding venue anywhere in Europe.

If you are an international couple marrying at a European venue, hiring a wedding band abroad raises one real question: how do you book a band you cannot drive across town to audition, and trust it to land, set up and deliver in a country none of you live in. This page is for couples planning from the UK, Ireland, the United States, Germany, Scandinavia or anywhere else, marrying in Italy, Spain, France, Portugal or Greece, who want a single English-speaking live band that travels and one person accountable for the whole day.

Lupa Entertainment is a boutique music agency in Amsterdam, founded in 2018 by Noam Bargil, a working bandleader. We have a fixed roster of 14 acts we have personally seen and coached, over 300 events since 2018 for clients including Heineken, Microsoft, Salesforce, IBM, Booking.com, ING and Tommy Hilfiger, and we produce destination weddings across Tuscany, Provence, Mallorca, Ibiza, Lake Como, the Amalfi Coast, Santorini, Portugal, Paris, Brussels and Berlin. Being based in the Netherlands and travelling out is an advantage for an international booking: we are central in Europe, used to crossing borders, and we itemise every travel cost rather than hiding it.

How it works

What an international wedding band actually has to get right

Hiring a band that travels abroad is less about the music and more about everything around it. The band has to arrive a day early, clear customs with instruments, work with a venue and a planner in another language, set up on a surface that may be grass or stone, and deliver on power that may come from a generator. A band that plays beautifully at home but has never crossed a border is a risk. The acts we send abroad have done it dozens of times, and one Lupa coordinator owns travel, technical and timeline so you do not have to project-manage musicians from another country.

The bands we send across Europe

For the main party our core touring act is Benga Band, the live show Noam leads, scalable from a four-piece up with sound and light included, playing international pop, soul, funk and disco a mixed crowd knows. For a DJ-led floor with live instruments we send Drumpet Disco, a DJ with live trumpet and drums, and Savoy closes the night on the decks. Every act hosts and performs in English. We do not send a band we have not personally seen play, and we will tell you honestly when a four-piece is enough rather than upselling a lineup you do not need.

What it costs to hire a wedding band abroad

A four-piece band starts at EUR 3,000 with sound and light included, and each extra musician adds EUR 500, so a five-piece is EUR 3,500 and a six-piece is EUR 4,000. A DJ to close the night is EUR 850, or EUR 1,500 with full production. On top of the act fee we quote flights, accommodation and ground travel for the musicians as a separate, itemised line, so you see the true cost of bringing the band to your venue rather than finding travel padded into the fee. A common international booking is a band for the party and a DJ for the late floor, coordinated and invoiced together.

How the booking and the logistics work

You send your date, country and venue, we come back within one business day with availability and an itemised quote, you review the band on video, and we confirm. From there one coordinator builds the travel plan, the technical setup and the run of show with your planner. We hire backline and a PA locally where it is smarter than freighting it, confirm generator capacity and a weather fallback for outdoor venues, and stay reachable on the day. You get one contract and one invoice instead of negotiating with musicians in a language you may not speak.

How this differs from a local band

A local act at the destination is cheaper on travel but you cannot audition it, the language can be a barrier, and there is no single accountable contact if something slips. A travelling band you booked and saw on video, run by one coordinator, trades a transparent travel cost for certainty. For Dutch couples marrying abroad see our destination wedding band from the Netherlands page, for the full format-by-format guide see destination wedding entertainment in Europe, and browse the roster at ons artiestenbureau.

Common mistakes hiring a band abroad

  • Booking a band that has never travelled. Crossing a border with instruments and setting up on a generator is a skill, not a given.
  • Not itemising travel. If travel is baked into the fee you cannot tell what you are really paying for.
  • Skipping the video review. You should see and hear the exact act before you commit, especially when you cannot see them live.
  • Forgetting the late floor. A band is for the main party, a DJ closes the night, and the two together beat one act stretched thin.
  • Booking late. Peak European wedding season fills months ahead and flights get more expensive the longer you wait.
