Booking a live party band for your wedding, from dinner to dance floor.
A good wedding party band does what no playlist ever can: read the room in real time. They see who is ready to dance, feel when the tempo needs to go up, and know exactly how to move the evening from a relaxed dinner to a packed dance floor. On this page we show which party bands we book most often since 2018 for Dutch weddings, which lineup fits which guest count, the evening structure that works best for dance-floor weddings, and the traps to avoid.
Lupa Entertainment is a boutique agency in Amsterdam since 2018, founded by working bandleader Noam Bargil. 300+ events for weddings at Westergasfabriek, Kasteel de Haar, Pulitzer and Hotel de l'Europe. Acts personally curated and briefed. No marketplace pool, fixed lineups in contract, named understudy per role.
How it works
Our 4 most-booked wedding party bands
| Band | Lineup | Best for | Guest count | Example venues |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Benga Band | 6-piece (vocals, horns, rhythm) | Classic dance-floor wedding, funk/Latin/pop | 100-1500 | Westergasfabriek, Gashouder, Pulitzer |
| Savoy | 5-7 piece (vocals, horns) | Multi-generational, vintage swing and Motown | 80-300 | Kasteel de Haar, De Duif, Conservatorium Hotel |
| Drumpet Disco | DJ + live trumpet + drums | Hybrid wow act, young crowd, late floor | 80-1500 | Westergasfabriek, festival-style |
| Fourtunes | 8-piece showband | Big weddings/galas with dramatic show | 250-2000 | large halls, festival stages |
Which party band for which dance-floor wedding
- 80-150 guests, classic evening: Benga Band
- 150-250 with dance-floor focus: Benga Band or Drumpet Disco for festival-style
- Multi-generational: Savoy (vintage swing, soul, Motown)
- 250+ or showband production: Fourtunes
- Hybrid long evening (band + DJ): Benga Band or Savoy until 23:00, then Drumpet Disco/Demi Elisa/Golden Sax until 02:00-03:00
What sets a professional Dutch party band apart
- Real-time room reading, not a rigid setlist
- Tempo curve over the evening (mid-tempo opener, peak set, slow exit to DJ)
- 1-2 custom songs included (first dance + favourite), arrangement from your Spotify link 6 weeks ahead
- Dutch and English announcements switched seamlessly for mixed crowds
- Production-aware per venue (Westergasfabriek 95dB cap, Pulitzer hotel restrictions)
- One coordinator on the night (often Noam)
Common mistakes
- Lineup not matched to venue (8-piece for 80 guests overwhelms; 4-piece for 250 disappears)
- Comparing on headline price without checking what's itemised (BumaStemra, transport, VAT)
- Booking 6 weeks before a summer Saturday (best 5-6 piece bands fill 9-12 months out)
- No named musicians in contract
- Custom songs sent 3 weeks before instead of 6
