Wedding Band Amsterdam
Wedding music · Amsterdam & Netherlands

Live wedding bands for Amsterdam ceremonies, cocktail hours and receptions.

Booking a wedding band in Amsterdam comes down to one thing: finding an act that can read your specific room on that specific night. A canal house in the Jordaan plays differently than a villa in Blaricum, the Pulitzer hotel plays differently than Westergasfabriek, and a 30-guest home wedding needs a completely different band than a 250-guest party at Gashouder. On this page we show which bands we book most often since 2018, which room each fits, what setup we recommend per guest count, and how the booking flow works from first contact to after-party.

Lupa Entertainment is a boutique music agency in Amsterdam, founded 2018 by Noam Bargil, working bandleader of Benga Band. Fixed roster of 14 acts we have personally seen and coached. 300+ events since 2018 for Heineken, Microsoft, Salesforce, IBM, Booking.com, ING and Tommy Hilfiger. No marketplace pool, one coordinator on the night.

How it works

Which wedding band fits which Amsterdam wedding

Matching the right band starts with four questions: how many guests, what venue type, what mood, and what decibel limit. Top four wedding bands plus the lineup per scenario.

Wedding scenarioGuest countRecommended bandExample venues
Modern dance-floor, young crowd100-250Benga Band (6-piece party band, funk/Latin/pop)Westergasfabriek, Gashouder, Pulitzer
Multi-generational80-200Savoy (vintage swing, soul, Motown)Kasteel de Haar, De Duif, Conservatorium Hotel
Intimate canal house/home30-80Dupa Trio (jazz trio with trumpet and vocals)canal house, Hotel de l'Europe interior, home
Ceremony + cocktail only30-150Laura Dooge (jazz vocalist, Conservatorium-trained) or Peter Smith (acoustic jazz duo)De Duif, churches, garden ceremonies
Hybrid long programme (band + DJ)150-300Benga Band until 23:00, then Drumpet Disco or Golden SaxWestergasfabriek, Pulitzer, hotel rooftops

Each lineup includes full sound system and basic dance-floor lighting. For venues with decibel caps under 90dB (Hotel de l'Europe, Pulitzer, Conservatorium Hotel, De Duif) we brief the band and choose acoustic or smaller lineup.

What a typical Amsterdam wedding day looks like

We coordinate ceremony, cocktails and reception through one conversation, one point of contact. Typical flow:

  • 14:30 ceremony, string quartet or acoustic duo, ~45 min
  • 16:00 cocktail hour, jazz trio (Dupa Trio) or vocal harmonies (Misstery Trio), ~90 min
  • 19:00 dinner, jazz trio continuing or acoustic background
  • 21:30 reception opens, main band takes over (Benga Band or Velvet Jazz), 3 sets of 45 min, first dance opens
  • 23:00 hybrid transition, DJ (Drumpet Disco, Golden Sax, Demi Elisa) takes the late-night floor until 02:00-03:00

What sets a good Amsterdam wedding band apart

  • Reads the room in real time, not a rigid pre-planned set
  • Switches between Dutch and English announcements for mixed crowds
  • Production-aware: knows Westergasfabriek's 95dB cap, Conservatorium Hotel's 01:00 curfew, Gashouder's load-in slot
  • 1-2 custom songs per wedding included (first dance + favourite) with Spotify link 6 weeks ahead
  • One coordinator on the night (often Noam)

Common mistakes

  • Booking 6 weeks before a summer Saturday (best bands fill 9-12 months out, top acts 12-18 months)
  • Lineup not matched to venue (6-piece with horns in a 90dB room sounds frustrated)
  • No named musicians in contract (marketplace risk)
  • Custom songs sent 3 days before instead of 6 weeks
  • Overtime not locked in contract

Pricing

from €3,000

A wedding band starts at EUR 3,000 for a four-piece, with sound and light included, and each extra musician adds EUR 500. A jazz trio for a ceremony or cocktail hour starts at EUR 1,400 and an acoustic duo at EUR 900. The final number depends on the lineup size, set length, production needs (PA, lighting, MC), the date and the venue, with summer weekends and December dates higher than midweek bookings in shoulder season.

Send us your date and venue and we come back within one business day with a specific recommendation and a transparent quote.
