Party Band Amsterdam
Party bands in Amsterdam

High-energy party bands for Amsterdam private parties, corporate events, and celebrations.

A party band in Amsterdam has one job: fill the dance floor and keep it full. Whether it is a private birthday at a canal house, a brand activation at Westergasfabriek, or a corporate end-of-year celebration in the city centre, the music has to actually move the room.

Amsterdam is home base for the Lupa roster. The same six-piece Benga Band that played Kingsday Utrecht mainstage to 8,000 people scales down to a 100-guest private party at a canal house without dropping the energy. Same lineup, same crew, different room.

How it works

Which party band fits which Amsterdam event

Matching the right party band starts with the room and the crowd, not the genre. Below the three acts we send to most Amsterdam parties, with the guest count and the reason each one fits.

EventGuest countBand we book mostWhy this one
Wedding dance floor or modern private party100-250Benga Band (6-piece, funk, Latin and pop covers)Built to fill a floor and keep it full, the most-booked act on our roster
Multi-generational party or company anniversary80-200Savoy (swing, soul and Motown)Reads a room that spans grandparents and twenty-somethings without losing either
Product launch or brand activation100-1500Drumpet Disco (DJ with live trumpet and drums, Latin house, Afrohouse, disco and funk)High-impact opening and festival energy, visual theatre a playlist cannot match
Intimate birthday or canal-house party50-100Benga Band as a tighter four-piece with a featured saxophoneFull live energy at a scale that fits a smaller room

Every lineup from the four-piece up includes a full sound system for your guest count and a basic dance-floor light show. For a 250-plus crowd, an outdoor event or a one-shot load-in venue like Gashouder or Westergasfabriek we upgrade the production and list it as a separate line.

Prices for a party band in Amsterdam

A full party band starts at EUR 3,000 for a four-piece, with sound and light included. A five-piece sits near EUR 3,500, a six-piece like Benga Band near EUR 4,000, and a seven to nine-piece from EUR 4,500. Each musician beyond the four-piece base adds EUR 500. The final number depends on the lineup, the set length, the venue and the date, with Saturdays between May and September and December corporate dates at the higher end.

Every quote is itemised: performance, sound, light, transport within 50km of Amsterdam, BumaStemra copyright (around 7 percent of the music budget), 9 percent VAT on the artistic performance and 21 percent on technical services. No hidden agency margin. Send your date, venue and guest count for a transparent PDF within one business day.

Party band for a corporate event in Amsterdam

Corporate parties are a large part of what we do in Amsterdam. Lupa acts have played for Heineken, Microsoft, Booking.com, IBM, Canon and the City of Amsterdam, from year-end staff parties to product launches at Westergasfabriek and the Gashouder. A corporate party band reads the brief differently from a wedding: dinner volume under the speeches, then a real floor once the formal programme is done. For the full corporate brief including a live band see our corporate band Netherlands page, and for a late-night floor after the live set many clients add a DJ from our DJ Amsterdam page.

What sets a great Amsterdam party band apart

  • Reads the room in real time and adjusts the set, rather than running a fixed playlist
  • Switches between Dutch and English announcements for the mixed crowds common in Amsterdam
  • Production-aware: knows Westergasfabriek's 95dB cap and the load-in slots at venues like the Gashouder
  • Learns one special request (a first dance, a company anthem) with a Spotify link six weeks ahead
  • One coordinator on the night, often Noam himself, not five separate band members to chase

Common mistakes when booking a party band in Amsterdam

  • Booking a summer Saturday six weeks out, when the strongest acts fill six to nine months ahead and the most-requested twelve
  • Matching the lineup to the budget instead of the room, so a six-piece with horns sounds cramped in a 90dB space
  • No named musicians in the contract, the marketplace risk of an act that has never played together
  • Sending the must-play and do-not-play list three days before instead of six weeks
  • Leaving overtime to the night, when the rate is always higher than agreed in advance
