Three live voices in close harmony for your reception, dinner or company event in Amsterdam. From EUR 1,600, with a quote within one business day.
You can hire a vocal trio in Amsterdam through Lupa Entertainment from EUR 1,600. The trio we book is Misstery Trio: three singers trained at the Dutch Academy of Performing Arts, singing jazz, soul and pop in three-part harmony, live, with no backing track. If one voice suits the room better, Laura Dooge sings jazz standards with her own trio from the same price, and a single vocalist starts at EUR 600.
A vocal trio fills a gap most planners only notice when they need it. An instrumental jazz trio stays in the background. A party band is built to be loud. Three voices in harmony give a reception or a dinner something guests turn around to listen to, at a level where people can still talk. That is why we book the format for drinks receptions, client dinners, award evenings and the first hour of a company party.
Lupa Entertainment is a boutique music agency in Amsterdam, founded in 2018 by Noam Bargil, the bandleader of Benga Band. We work from a fixed roster of 14 acts, have produced 300+ events, and our clients include Heineken, Microsoft, Salesforce, Booking.com and ING. You deal with one contact from the first email to the last song, and the sound, the timing and the venue rules are fully taken care of. For everything else we book in the city, see our Amsterdam page. Send your date and guest count by email, phone or WhatsApp and the quote comes back within one business day.
How it works
When a vocal trio is the right call
A vocal trio works best where you want live music people actually notice, without turning the evening into a concert. Think of a drinks reception where guests arrive over forty minutes, a seated dinner for 60 to 150 people, a short musical moment between award segments, or a product launch where the arrival needs warmth before the speeches start. Three voices carry further than one and sound fuller than a soloist, yet they stay softer than a band with drums. If your evening ends on a dance floor, the trio covers the first half and a DJ or band takes the second. Noam's honest view as a bandleader: if your guests will be standing and talking for most of the night, a vocal trio is usually money better spent than a bigger band they will have to shout over.
Vocal trio, jazz trio, singer or band: how they compare
| Format | What you hear | Best moment | From |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vocal trio (Misstery Trio) | three voices in harmony, jazz, soul and pop | reception, dinner, award evening | EUR 1,600 |
| Jazz vocalist with trio (Laura Dooge) | one lead voice with her trio, standards | quieter dinner, smaller room | EUR 1,600 |
| Instrumental jazz trio (Dupa Trio, Fourtunes) | no vocals, background through the meal | dinner where talk comes first | EUR 1,600 |
| Soloist | one voice or one instrument | short reception, small group | EUR 600 |
| Acoustic duo | voice and guitar | drinks for 40 to 80 guests | EUR 900 |
| Four-piece band | full band for dancing | the party after dinner | EUR 3,000, sound and light from EUR 850 extra |
The short version: pick the vocal trio when you want guests to listen for a moment and then carry on talking. Pick an instrumental trio when the music should disappear under the conversation. Pick a band when you want people on their feet.
Vocal trio for a corporate event in Amsterdam
Corporate events are where a vocal trio earns its fee. A typical brief is a reception or dinner for 80 to 200 guests, often international, in a hotel, a museum hall or an event space in the centre of Amsterdam. The trio sings through arrival drinks, takes a pause for the welcome speech, and comes back for the dinner or the networking hour. Because the set is jazz, soul and pop sung in English, it works for a room with guests from ten countries as well as for a Dutch team.
What you can count on as a corporate client:
- Clients including Heineken, Microsoft, Salesforce, Booking.com, IBM, Canon, ING, Tommy Hilfiger and the City of Amsterdam
- A written contract and a VAT (BTW) invoice your finance team can process without back and forth
- A backup guarantee: if a performer cannot make it, we arrange a replacement of the same level, so your booking stands
- Our own sound and light with a technician, from EUR 850 extra, kept within the decibel limit of your venue
- One contact person from the first quote to the night itself
- A quote within one business day
How a vocal trio set runs across an evening
Misstery Trio plays a window of 2 to 4 hours. Within that, most evenings use two or three sets of about forty five minutes, with recorded music under the breaks. A common shape for a corporate evening is a first set for arrival, a pause for speeches, a second set during the starter and main course, and a short third set over dessert or coffee. We build the exact timing around your run of show so the trio never sings over a toast or a presentation.
Repertoire: jazz, soul and pop in three parts
The trio moves between jazz standards, soul classics and pop songs reworked for three voices. Tight harmony is the point: a familiar song arranged for three singers sounds new without losing what guests recognise. If there are songs that matter to you, a company anthem or a song tied to your brand, tell us early and we check with the trio what can be arranged in time. If your guest list is mostly Dutch, ask about Dutch songs in the set.
Sound, space and the room
In a small room with a few dozen guests, three voices carry well. For larger rooms, and for most corporate events over about 60 guests, the voices need a vocal PA so the tables at the back hear the harmony as clearly as the tables at the front. We supply that with a technician from EUR 850 extra, or work with the venue's own system when it is suitable. The trio needs a corner of a few square metres, away from the bar and the path of the waiters. Many Amsterdam hotels and canal-side venues have strict sound limits, and a vocal trio is one of the easiest formats to keep inside them.
Building the rest of the evening around the trio
A vocal trio often starts an evening that ends somewhere else. Two combinations that work well: the trio for the reception and dinner, then a DJ like Savoy from EUR 1,000 for the dance floor; or the trio first, then Golden Sax, a DJ with a live saxophonist, from EUR 1,600. If you want instruments under the voices, ask us, each extra musician is from EUR 500.
