Live wedding singers in Amsterdam, from the ceremony aisle to the first dance and the reception.
A wedding singer is the most personal booking on the whole day, which is why the search term means something different from a wedding band. Couples who look for wedding singers in Amsterdam want a real voice on the moments that stay in the memory: the walk down the aisle, the signing, the first dance, the toast. They are not, yet, asking for a six-piece to fill a dance floor. This page covers which singers we send for an Amsterdam wedding, how a solo voice differs from a vocal trio or a full band with a singer, what a wedding singer actually costs, and the city rooms where each format works.
Lupa Entertainment is a boutique music agency in Amsterdam, founded in 2018 by Noam Bargil, working bandleader of Benga Band. A fixed roster of 14 acts we have personally seen and coached, over 300 events since 2018 for clients including Heineken, Microsoft, Salesforce, IBM, Booking.com, ING and Tommy Hilfiger. One coordinator runs your wedding from the first email to the last dance, and you get one invoice instead of a separate contract for every musician.
How it works
What a wedding singer actually does on the day
A wedding singer is not the same booking as a party band, and couples who search for one usually know exactly what they want: a real voice on the moments that matter most. The walk down the aisle. The signing of the register. The first dance. The toast. These are the parts of the day a guest still remembers a year later, and a live singer carries them in a way a playlist never will. The job here is intimacy and timing, not volume. A good wedding singer reads a quiet room, holds a note while you walk, and knows when to step back so the moment belongs to you and not to the music.
That is also why a single voice is the wrong tool for a late dance floor. A singer with a guitar will fill a ceremony and a dinner beautifully, but it will not hold a hundred guests past midnight. The honest setup for most Amsterdam weddings is a singer for the front of the day and a band or a DJ for the floor, and we will tell you that rather than sell you one act stretched across twelve hours.

The wedding singers we book in Amsterdam
Our lead wedding vocalist is Laura Dooge, who graduated cum laude from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and has sung at the Concertgebouw and BIMHUIS. She works the Great American Songbook and contemporary ballads, and she scales from a solo set for a ceremony to a duo, a trio or a full band for the reception, which makes her the most flexible single booking on a wedding day. For a cocktail hour with no backing track and real presence we book Misstery Trio, three voices in tight harmony across jazz, soul and pop. For a seated dinner that wants vocals woven through it we book Dupa Trio, whose set carries a singer alongside trumpet, guitar and bass. When the night needs a floor after the singing is done, Savoy, our roster DJ, bridges soul, swing and Motown into modern dance for a crowd that spans generations, and Benga Band brings a full live party band with its own light and sound production. The point of an agency is that one person matches all of this to your day. See the full lineup at our artiestenbureau.
Solo singer, vocal trio, or a full band with a singer
The word singer hides a real decision about scale. A solo singer with one accompanist is the right choice for a ceremony, the aisle walk and a live first dance, and starts at EUR 600. A singer and duo or a vocal trio suits a drinks reception or a cocktail hour and starts around EUR 1,000 to EUR 1,400. A full band with a lead vocalist is what you want when the singer also has to carry the late floor, and that starts at EUR 3,000 with sound and light included, with each extra musician at EUR 500. Most couples who type wedding singer actually want a vocalist for the front of the day plus a separate dance act for the night, and that combination almost always sounds better and costs less than asking one large band to cover everything.
Singing in Amsterdam wedding venues
The room decides the format more than the budget does. A ceremony in De Duif, the classical church on the Prinsengracht, is a roughly 85dB acoustic space where a solo voice and a guitar carry without a PA at all, which is exactly what that room is for. A refined dinner at the Pulitzer or Hotel de l'Europe sits under an 88 to 90dB hotel cap with a 01:00 curfew, so a jazz vocalist with a trio is right and a full stack is not. A reception at the Hortus Botanicus or a gala at the Rijksmuseum runs to strict end times that shape where the live vocal sits in the evening. We also brief every act on canal-house load-in, because narrow stairs and small doors decide what fits on a stage. Travel inside roughly 50km of Amsterdam carries no fee. For the wider city picture see our Amsterdam page.
Prices for a wedding singer in Amsterdam
A solo wedding singer for a ceremony or a live first dance starts at EUR 600. A singer and duo for a reception starts at EUR 1,000, and a vocal trio or a jazz vocalist with a trio for a cocktail hour or dinner starts at EUR 1,400. A full band with a lead singer for the dance floor starts at EUR 3,000 with its own sound and light, and each extra musician adds EUR 500. A DJ to close the night is EUR 850, or EUR 1,500 with its own production. The most common wedding booking is a singer for the ceremony and dinner plus a band or DJ for the floor, quoted as one transparent package on a single invoice. Final pricing depends on the format, the set length, the date and the venue, plus any travel beyond the Amsterdam radius. Send your date, venue and headcount and we come back within one business day.
A wedding singer across the whole day
The strongest weddings use a single voice as a thread through the day rather than a one-off. Laura Dooge can sing your ceremony solo, then return with a duo for the reception, sit in with the trio over dinner, and perform your first dance live before the floor opens. Booking one vocalist who appears at three or four moments gives the day a feeling of continuity that separate acts never quite reach, and it is simpler to plan. For the full live-band route across the night see our wedding band Amsterdam page, and for an intimate instrumental front of day see acoustic duo Amsterdam.
Can the singer perform our first dance song live
Yes, and a live first dance is one of the most requested moments we handle. Share the song well in advance and the singer will prepare a live arrangement in the right key and length for your dance. If a track genuinely does not suit a live voice and guitar, we will say so honestly and suggest an arrangement that will land rather than promise something that will not. For a jazz-led front of day with a dinner trio see jazz trio Amsterdam.
Common mistakes booking a wedding singer
- Expecting a solo singer to fill a late floor. A voice and a guitar own the ceremony and the dinner, not the after-party. Book a band or a DJ for the night as well.
- Leaving the first dance song until the last week. A live arrangement needs time. Send it early.
- Booking a full band for a ceremony. A six-piece cannot play a quiet aisle walk. A solo singer is the right scale.
- Ignoring the venue acoustics. A stone church and a carpeted ballroom need different briefs, and we set the format per room.
- Booking late. The strongest wedding vocalists fill peak Saturdays many months out.
The booking process
- 1Send us your date, venue and the moments you want sung: ceremony, first dance, reception or dinner
- 2We come back within one business day with the right vocal format for each moment, not the biggest lineup
- 3You review the singers on video and we confirm availability, your first dance arrangement and any pairing with a band or DJ
- 4One coordinator runs the wedding, one invoice, the singer works to your timeline from the aisle to the last dance
