A DJ with full event production (larger PA, dance-floor lighting rig, DMX control) starts at EUR 1,500. A hybrid act, meaning a DJ with a live saxophone, trumpet or percussion, sits between those two depending on the lineup. Saturdays between May and September run higher than midweek dates, and a December corporate date sits at the top of the range.

Common mistakes when booking a DJ in Amsterdam

• Comparing on price alone. The difference between a 600-euro hobby DJ and a professional is capacity, and it costs you later in guests who leave at 22:30.
• Giving no must-play and do-not-play list. A DJ without a brief plays their own taste, not your night.
