Book a corporate event DJ in Amsterdam who handles the dinner, the speeches and the dance floor as one night.
A corporate DJ has a harder brief than a club DJ. The music reflects on your organisation in front of clients and colleagues, it has to sit under the speeches without killing the room, and it has to lift a mixed-age crowd onto the floor the moment the formal programme ends. On this page we show how booking a corporate event DJ in Amsterdam actually works through a working music agency: which DJs we put on company parties, product launches, awards evenings and year-end galas, how the music runs from reception to last dance, what it costs, and how we coordinate with your AV team so nothing is improvised on the night.
Lupa Entertainment is a boutique music agency in Amsterdam, founded in 2018 by Noam Bargil, a working bandleader himself. Over 300 events since 2018 for clients including Heineken, Microsoft, Salesforce, IBM, ING and Booking.com. We work with a fixed roster of 14 acts we have personally seen and briefed. No marketplace pool, no unknown stand-ins, one coordinator on the night and one itemised quote. If you want a live band for the corporate brief instead of, or alongside, a DJ, start at our corporate band Netherlands page.
How it works
Which corporate DJ fits which company event
For a corporate event the choice starts with the format and the audience, not the genre. Below the acts we put on most Amsterdam company nights, with what each one is right for.
| Corporate event type | Guest count | Act we book most | Why this one |
|---|---|---|---|
| Year-end gala or awards evening | 100-800 | Golden Sax (DJ + live saxophone) | Fills dinner under conversation level, lifts the tempo after the speeches, looks premium for a client-facing room |
| Product launch or brand activation | 100-1500 | Drumpet Disco (DJ + live trumpet + drums) | High-impact opening moment, festival energy, visual theatre a laptop alone cannot deliver |
| Staff party or summer company party | 80-400 | Drumpet Disco or a pure DJ set | Reads a mixed-age workforce, keeps a full floor from the first track to the curfew |
| Conference after-party or networking drinks | 50-300 | Golden Sax for the room, pure DJ for the late floor | Background sax during networking, then a dance set once the lanyards come off |
Every booking includes a full sound system for your guest count and a basic dance-floor light show. For a launch in a raw space like Gashouder or Westergasfabriek, a 250-plus crowd or an outdoor activation, we upgrade the production and list it as a separate line. Many corporate clients pair the DJ with live musicians earlier in the evening through our corporate band Netherlands page, and to compare our four DJs side by side read the best DJ Amsterdam shortlist.
What a corporate event DJ in Amsterdam actually delivers
The gap between a wedding DJ and a true corporate DJ shows up in three places, and none of them is the playlist:
- Reading a working crowd. A corporate room is colder than a wedding. Nobody is there for the music, half of them came for the speeches and would leave at 22:30 if the floor felt forced. Our DJs learned to turn that room by playing corporate nights for Microsoft, IBM, ING and Booking.com.
- Sitting under the programme. A corporate DJ has to hold dinner and the speeches at a level where a CEO at the lectern is heard clearly, then move the energy up the second the programme ends, without an awkward silence in between. That is a skill, not a volume knob.
- Working with your AV and venue. A corporate event usually has an AV supplier, a stage, screens and a strict end time. Our DJ coordinates the technical rider with your team ahead of the day and respects the venue cap, whether that is the Rijksmuseum holding a firm end time or Hotel de l'Europe wanting no subwoofer under the guest rooms.
Prices for a corporate event DJ in Amsterdam
A corporate event DJ in Amsterdam starts at EUR 850 for a pure DJ set with sound and basic lighting. A DJ with full event production (larger PA, dance-floor lighting rig, DMX control) starts at EUR 1,500. A hybrid act, meaning a DJ with a live saxophone or trumpet, sits between those two depending on the lineup, and is the option most corporate clients choose for a client-facing night. The Q4 corporate season in November and December runs at the top of the range because every gala lands in the same few weeks.
Every quote is itemised: performance, sound, lighting, transport within 50km of Amsterdam, BumaStemra copyright (around 7 percent of the music budget), 9 percent VAT on the artistic performance and 21 percent VAT on technical services. No hidden agency margin, and a quote that your finance team can read line by line. Send us your date, venue and guest count and you get a transparent PDF within one business day.
Hiring a DJ for a company party or bedrijfsfeest in Amsterdam
The company party is where a corporate DJ earns the booking. The setup we put on most is a single act that covers both halves of the night: a quiet, premium dinner set under the speeches, then a dance floor once the formal part is done. Golden Sax does exactly that, the saxophone carrying the room during dinner and the DJ lifting the tempo when the programme ends. For a launch or a staff party that wants a loud opening, Drumpet Disco brings the live trumpet and drums for the wow moment, then settles into a set that keeps a mixed workforce on the floor. We brief the DJ on sponsor and VIP names, the running order and the must-play and do-not-play list, and we put one coordinator on site, often Noam himself.
Common mistakes when booking a corporate DJ in Amsterdam
- Treating it like a wedding DJ booking. A corporate room needs a DJ who can read a colder, working crowd, not just play hits.
- No brief from the events team. A DJ without the running order, the speech timings and the brand tone plays generic, and a generic corporate party empties early.
- Forgetting the AV handover. If the DJ and your AV supplier have not spoken before the day, the music drops out during the changeover from the formal programme. We close that gap in advance.
- Booking the December gala late. The Q4 season fills first. For a November or December corporate date, book at least 4 to 5 months ahead.
