A boutique entertainment agency in Amsterdam that books live music it has actually seen.
Most entertainment agencies in Amsterdam are booking pools. You send a brief, they forward it to a database of acts they have never watched, and you find out who you actually hired on the night. Lupa works the other way around. We are a small agency with a fixed roster of 14 acts, and our founder Noam Bargil has seen and coached every one of them live, because he is a working bandleader himself. When we recommend a band for your room, it is because we have stood in a room like yours and watched that band fill it.
Lupa Entertainment was founded in Amsterdam in 2018. Since then we have produced over 300 events for clients including Heineken, Microsoft, Salesforce, IBM, Booking.com, Canon, ING and Tommy Hilfiger, from 30-guest canal-house weddings to 800-guest corporate galas. This page is the English and German entry point to everything we book: live bands, jazz acts, DJs, hybrid DJ-and-live acts, and ceremony music, across Amsterdam and the wider Netherlands. How it works
What a boutique entertainment agency in Amsterdam actually does
A real agency does three things a booking platform cannot. It knows the acts personally, so the recommendation fits your room instead of the database's availability. It coordinates the whole night through one contact, so you are not chasing four separate musicians and a sound company. And it stands behind the booking, with named musicians and a named understudy in every contract. That is the difference between hiring entertainment and hoping it shows up.
The Lupa roster at a glance
Fourteen acts, grouped by what they are for. This is the shortlist we draw from when you tell us your event type, guest count and venue.
| You are booking | Act we reach for first | Right for | From |
|---|---|---|---|
| A modern dance-floor band | Benga Band (6-piece funk, Latin, pop) | Weddings and parties of 100 to 250 | EUR 3,000 |
| A vintage swing and soul band | Savoy | Galas and multi-generational crowds | EUR 3,000 |
| An intimate jazz act | Dupa Trio (trumpet, vocals) | Dinners, cocktail hours, 30 to 120 guests | EUR 1,400 |
| A corporate or party DJ | Golden Sax, Drumpet Disco, Demi Elisa | Launches, galas, late-night floors | EUR 850 |
| Ceremony or background music | Laura Dooge, Peter Smith | Ceremonies, receptions, dinners | EUR 600 |
For the full picture by event type, our deeper pages cover wedding bands, corporate bands, party bands, the jazz trio, and DJ hire on our DJ Amsterdam page.
Prices: what booking live music in Amsterdam costs
There is no single agency rate, because you are paying for musicians and production, not a middleman markup. A soloist or ceremony act starts at EUR 600, an acoustic duo at EUR 1,000, a jazz trio at EUR 1,400, a four-piece band at EUR 3,000 with sound and lighting included, and every extra musician adds EUR 500. A DJ starts at EUR 850, or EUR 1,500 with full event production. Saturdays between May and September and December corporate dates run higher than midweek bookings in the shoulder season.
Every Lupa quote is one itemised PDF: performance, sound, lighting, transport within 50km of Amsterdam, BumaStemra copyright (around 7 percent of the music budget), 9 percent VAT on the artistic performance and 21 percent on technical services. No hidden agency margin sitting on top. Send your date, venue and guest count and you get the quote within one business day.
Booking entertainment for a wedding or a corporate event
The two briefs we get most are weddings and corporate, and they need different things from an agency. A wedding wants one team that carries the ceremony, the cocktail hour and the party without four separate handovers, which is why couples book the whole arc through us. A corporate event wants an act that reads the brand in front of clients: a quiet, premium set under the dinner and speeches, then a floor that fills after. For weddings, start on the wedding band Amsterdam page. For company parties, launches and galas, the corporate band Netherlands page has the full brief.
Beyond Amsterdam: the rest of the Netherlands
We are based in Amsterdam but book across the country. Rotterdam, Utrecht, The Hague, Eindhoven and Haarlem are all within our standard 50km transport or a listed travel line beyond it. If your event is in Rotterdam, our wedding band Rotterdam and DJ Rotterdam pages cover the local venues and scene. Tell us the city and we plan the logistics around it.
Why book through an agency instead of an act direct
You can book a single band direct and skip the agency. The reason most of our clients do not is risk and time. With Lupa you get one contact for ceremony, dinner and party instead of three separate negotiations, named musicians instead of a marketplace stand-in, a named understudy if someone falls ill, and a quote you can read line by line. The act stays the same price either way, because the agency margin is in the coordination, not a markup on the band.
Common mistakes when hiring an entertainment agency in Amsterdam
- Choosing the agency with the biggest catalogue. A pool of 500 acts means nobody at that agency has watched most of them.
- Booking on price alone without matching the lineup to the room. A six-piece in a 90dB hotel sounds frustrated, and a trio disappears in a 250-guest hall.
- Leaving it late. The best acts on a summer Saturday are full 9 to 12 months out, the most-requested 12 to 18.
- No named musicians in the contract, so you cannot tell who actually turns up.
The booking process
- 1Tell us your date, venue, guest count and the type of event (wedding, corporate, party, launch)

- 3A call with Noam to confirm the fit and walk through lineup, production and run of show
- 4Contract with named musicians, a named understudy and every line item itemised including VAT
- 5Pre-event briefing two weeks ahead covering must-plays, run of show and venue rules
